Here's an idea for gigabit Internet in Austin!
Wireless Sharing
Everything can be Ethernet and wireless based, sharing connections. Then they would collectively need large bandwidth at points that connect to media on the Internet.
The sharing of connections is fundamental in this idea and makes a network of its own.
If devices could easily share their variety of wireless connections - 802.11, 4G, etc, and even new protocols, then networks would cover larger areas and be more robust under large scales. Imagine a day at Austin City Limits Festival and all devices streaming some type of media audio or video. Devices would spread their signals and the entire shared network, and a tower with large bandwidth would be necessary.
Google can help develop new protocols and new apps for existing protocols and operating systems for this type of sharing. It would be great if Austin were a part of it.
